The distribution rights of Tom of Finland have been sold to Kino Lorber in North America and Peccadillo Pictures in the UK.

The film, directed by Dome Karukoski, has aroused plenty of interest around the globe; thus far, it’s been sold to about a dozen countries. On top of the two new countries, the movie will also be screened in the likes of Germany, Denmark, France, Poland, South Korea and Taiwan.

Tom of Finland has received praise from audiences and award juries, too. For example, it has won the FIPRESCI award by the International Federation of Film Critics, and at the Göteborg Film Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden, the audience gave the film a standing ovation for several minutes.

Peccadillo Pictures is an award-winning London-based studio that specialises in art house, indie and international films. Kino Lorber, based in New York, distributes all kinds of films, from classic to contemporary cinema.

The Tom of Finland movie is part of Finland’s official centennial celebrations.
