ThingLink, a Finnish company developing interactive media platforms, has raised 1.2 million euros in funding from private investors.

Among the investors are Russian Run Capital, Finnish Inventure, San Fransisco-based Steelhead Ventures and Randi Zuckerberg, sister of the Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who leads her own media company. The news was reported by Talouselämä, a Finnish newspaper focused on economy and business.

ThingLink’s interactive media technology allows users to create engaging content by adding rich media links to photos and videos. The user can also keep track of how people interact with the content.

The company will soon expand its services to virtual reality applications and bring its own virtual reality editor. Among others, the editor can be used for creating interactive learning platforms and virtual shopping platforms.

The successful funding round enables ThingLink to expand its services and to recruit staff needed for the expansion.
