Solar Foods wins world-renowned design award

Finnish food-tech startup Solar Foods has received an Index Award for a new type of protein it has developed mainly from air and electricity. The sustainable protein is now being tested for different diets and food products and can in the future be grown and harvested anywhere, including the desert or even space. The Index Award, also know as the 'Nobel Prize for Design', is supported by the state of Denmark and is handed out every two years to winners across five categories for the most impactful solutions to the environment and people's lives. Each winner is also granted 100 000 euros in prize money, by far the most substantial monetary award in design.
