VirtualTraveller recognised in London
Helsinki-based startup VirtualTraveller has been named one of the top four video platforms of the year at Digiday’s annual media awards gala in London. VirtualTraveller awards airline points to the creators of its 360-degree travel and experience videos. The startup was founded by Finnish media personality Jaajo Linnonmaa in 2016, and the platform launched at Slush 2018 together with its first bonus programme partner, Finnair Plus.
Finnish e-invoicing and purchase-to-pay solutions provider Basware will provide a full P2P system to an undisclosed global provider of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, drinking water and waste management systems. The deal includes the full Basware P2P SaaS suite and network services for e-invoice receiving. The system will be deployed in 13 countries in Europe and North America, with supplier onboarding support from Basware.
Finnish advertising agency Hasan & Partners has won a Merit award at The One Show advertisement competition for its The Unknown Platform campaign launched with Finnish film The Unknown Soldier (Tuntematon Sotilas). The Unknown Platform allowed brands to attach themselves to the film without traditional product placement, by shooting their own footage during the filming. Hasan & Partners was awarded in the Branded Entertainment category in one of the industry’s most prestigious competitions.

Finnish company Uponor and Belkin have decided to each invest an additional six million US dollars (5.34 million euros) in their joint venture, Phyn, this year. Phyn Plus is a smart home device that monitors a home’s entire plumbing system in real time to detect leaks, conserve water and save money. The 12 million-US dollar capital injection will be used towards ongoing research, product development and growth in the Europe and the US.
