Finland is known for its strong expertise in the mobile gaming sector. The SimCity BuildIt game, created by the Finnish studio of the American gaming company Electronic Arts, is one of the 10 most lucrative iPhone games sold in Apple’s US App Store.

The first to report the news was the Finnish business magazine Talouselämä

The list in early January is largely dominated by Finnish games. The top 10 includes three games from the Finnish gaming company Supercell: Clash of Clans (1st), Boom Beach (5th) and Hay Day (7th), as well as SimCity BuildIt (9th), created by a team of Finnish developers for Electronic Arts.

In addition to the United States, SimCity BuildIt has also made it onto the list of the most lucrative iPhone games in 80 countries, and among iPad games it climbed into the top ten in 90 countries, reports Talouselämä.

Electronic Arts established a new gaming studio in Finland in 2012 on account of the high level of mobile expertise found in Finland. Currently, the EA Tracktwenty studio employs 35 people, some of whom are former employees of Rovio, Sulake and Digital Chocolate.
