Symbio and DENSO get innovative in Espoo
Software company Symbio and Japanese DENSO will establish a joint innovation centre in Symbio’s premises in Espoo, Finland.
The aim of the joint innovation centre is to combine DENSO’s automotive technology knowhow with Symbio’s knowledge about consumer products. The letter of intent was signed last week, and activities will commence before the end of the year.
The new office will see Symbio and DENSO employees working side by side. Through rapid prototyping, the goal is to build profitable solutions for the new automotive mobility industry.
“The automotive industry is facing major disruption,” says Arto Kuusinen, Symbio Europe’s chief executive. “Electric cars, self-driving vehicles and new digital services for driving and maintenance are changing both the intelligence in the car and its components.”
Symbio and DENSO will build new concepts and solutions for DENSO’s clients.
“It is great that Symbio reaches this strategic position with a major automotive component manufacturer and allows us to be a significant part of developing the automotive ecosystem,” Kuusinen adds. “The joint innovation centre is in the heart of developing new revenue streams.”
