Finnish game studio Supercell and UK-based Space Ape have begun a long-term strategic partnership, with Supercell acquiring just under two-thirds of its new partner.

Space Ape announced the news in a blog post by the CEO John Earner. Supercell’s ownership of Space Apes is now at 62 per cent, and the total equity value of the shares was 90 million US dollars.

According to Earner, the idea was first discussed in early 2016, and the conversation was resumed again this year.

“Supercell is patient, innovative, ambitious, and enormously successful,” Earner writes. “They are prepared for the ups and downs our journey will continue to bring because they’ve been there.”

Space Ape is known as the creator of games Samurai Siege, Rival Kingdoms and Transformers: Earth Wars.
