Stuttgart Airport has started to fuel its ground fleet vehicles with Neste’s low carbon biofuel Neste MY Renewable Diesel, to curb its CO2 emissions.

Neste MY Renewable Diesel will be used to fuel all the ground fleet vehicles at the airport which are not electrified, such as the airport fire trucks and winter service equipment.

The move away from fossil fuels allows Stuttgart Airport to significantly reduce its carbon footprint in accordance with its climate program to become climate-neutral by 2050.

“We are very pleased to support Stuttgart Airport in its transformation towards climate-neutral airport by 2050,” says Kaisa Hietala, executive vice president of Neste’s Renewable Products. “It is always a joy to see our fuel meet the high expectations with its convincing quality and performance”

Neste MY Renewable Diesel will be supplied to Stuttgart Airport by Neste’s German distribution partner Tool Fuel Service under the brand name C.A.R.E. Diesel.

Neste MY Renewable Diesel produced from renewable raw materials, can cut up to 90 per cent of greenhouse over its lifecycle compared with conventional fossil diesel. It doesn’t require any modifications to existing diesel engines and even outperforms fossil diesel in terms of engine performance.
