Finnish cleantech advisory service and collaboration platform Solved has teamed up with United Smart Cities (USC), a programme increasing cooperation between the public and private sectors to generate smart and sustainable city projects.

Solved is providing USC with a custom platform, which is available to every city in the large network, as well as an investment marketplace and advisory on-demand services. The platform is meant to enable effective collaboration between city representatives, companies, financiers and top smart city experts both locally and globally. It also helps the coordination and development of multiple projects by diverse teams among various stakeholders.

USC is a global initiative, established by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in cooperation with the Organization for International Economic Relations and other international organisations and cities as well as industry and the financial sector. Its aim is to generate smart and sustainable city projects.

The co-operation aims to tackle emerging city challenges, such as congestion, lack of funds to provide basic services, a shortage of adequate housing and deteriorating infrastructure.

“The United Smart Cities program has a clear focus,” says Santtu Hulkkonen, co-founder of Solved, in a press release. “It supports cities and smart sustainable technology solutions and services worldwide in order to implement urban infrastructure projects. The Solved platform is an ideal tool for early-stage engagement between cities, solutions providers and financiers.”
