Silmäasema’s eyes are on Estonia
The Finnish eye care provider and optical retailer purchases Tallinna Optika, which has stores all over Estonia.
Three of Tallinna Optika’s stores are in the capital Tallinn, and the rest are located in four other towns. The company currently employs over 30 people.
Silmäasema is the second largest optical retailer in Finland, and it also offers optical goods, eye surgery, eye laboratory and specialist services. The acquisition is the first step in the company’s internationalisation efforts.
“The purchase opens up new opportunities for growth and expansion for Silmäasema,” says CEO Pasi Kohmo, in a release.
In Finland, Silmäasema runs an extensive network of stores and eye clinics. In 2016, it has opened over a dozen new stores and completed six acquisitions.
