Finnish Robit has signed an agreement to purchase the manufacturing assets and IPRs from Halco International and Halco America.

Robit manufactures top hammer products for rock drilling and casing systems for ground drilling.

Now the manufacturing unit in Sherman, near Dallas, is under Robit Group’s ownership. Robit will be manufacturing its DTH-line products, the target market being especially the Americas. Its range covers all common sizes used in quarrying, construction, mining and well drilling.

The purchase strengthens Robit’s presence in the US, which is a part of the company’s global growth strategy. Now Robit is able to build its own manufacturing unit with related service point and stock, which will be located just in the centre of the region. This way, Robit secures improved service and delivery to the distributors and customers.

Halco is a pioneer brand in Down-the-Hole drilling with the brand name originating from Halifax Tool Co, UK 1948. Both Halco companies were owned by Regent, a private equity company from California.

Purchase prices for the deals are not disclosed.

Six months ago, Robit acquired the British manufacturer Bulroc.
