RemoteA lands EUR 1.2 million in EU funding

Substantial EU funding has been granted to Finnish company RemoteA to develop algorithms that are intended for studying the electrocardiogram.

The privately owned health technology company RemoteA was deemed the most worthy of 104 applications for the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 SME fund in the “ICT for Health” category.

RemoteA’s SmartECG software solution was recipient because it offers universal possibilities. The goal is to make the solution compatible with 80 per cent of all electrocardiography devices, which makes it unique.

“With this support of the Horizon 2020 SME fund, we will complete our SmartECG solution, validate the solution clinically and bring it to market in 2018,” says Ossi Tiihonen, CEO and the founder of RemoteA. “We are already piloting with a variety of operators.”

SmartECG is an aided tool for clinical decision-making. It is based on algorithms, which automatically interpret the results of analyzes, pre-select the most important results and assist medical professionals in the diagnosis and in the definition of treatment.
