Reaktor sets foot on continental Europe
Strategy, design and engineering company Reaktor has opened a new office in Amsterdam to strengthen its reach to global consumer brands.
Until now, Reaktor has had offices in its birth city Helsinki, Tokyo and New York. From Amsterdam, the company hopes to collaborate with some of the world’s largest consumer brands.
“We decided to head to the Netherlands, because that’s where many huge and internationally well-known companies have their European headquarters, and we want to work with them,” tells Ville Himberg, Reaktor’s country manager in the Netherlands, in a press release. “Amsterdam is the centre of business life in continental Europe.”
Reaktor started its first Dutch project last year. Its customers comprise the airline Air France-KLM and two big consumer brands.
Himberg notes that Amsterdam is appealing to foreign companies, startups and IT professionals. Recruits for the new office are ongoing: Reaktor is looking for both Amsterdam-based programmers, along with people keen to move to the city.
“The Dutch working culture is no-nonsense, people get straight down to business,” Himberg describes. “This suits both Reaktor’s working habits, as well as the Finnish mentality.”
Reaktor was founded in Helsinki in 2000. It’s office in Tokyo opened its doors in 2013, and the New York branch the following year.
