Proventia, a Finland-based manufacturer of emission control systems for heavy machinery, has opened a production plant in the Czech Republic, with operations slated to commence in 2018.

Increasing production capacity is timely for Proventia, as it will start the serial production of exhaust aftertreatment systems subject to new EU emissions regulations in 2019.

“According to our strategy, Proventia mainly manufactures products using subcontractors,” comments Jari Lotvonen, president and CEO of Proventia. “However, we manufacture selected special products and components ourselves. As production volumes are increasing, we also need to increase our capacity to manufacture these products.”

For choosing the Czech Republic as the location for Proventia’s new plant and first production unit outside of Finland, Lotvonen offers several reasons:

“The Czech Republic is strong in terms of the automotive industry and technical expertise, while production costs are low. Its excellent location helps us to make use of component manufacturing and raw materials in Poland and Slovakia. What is more, the Czech Republic is close to our customers in Central Europe.”
