Oamk LABs, a learning model developed by Oulu University of Applied Sciences, has taken home an international award for its innovativeness.

Oamk LABs won the award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship Teaching and Pedagogical Innovation from the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) at their 2017 conference in Halifax, Canada.

The GCEC comprises more than 200 university-based entrepreneurship centres around the world. Every year it awards the top entrepreneurship programmes in eight categories.

The Oamk LABs learning model has gained plenty of global attention. At the moment, it’s being utilised in, for example, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Slovakia and Romania. In its home-base Oulu, Oamk LABs brings together about 250 students every year.

Oamk LABs has risen on pedestals on various occasions. For example, earlier this year, it was selected as the winner for the Innovative Youth Incubator Award at ICIE 2017 in Malaysia.
