Nocart to bring power to Zambia
The Finnish company has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with an independent power producer for the delivery of power plants to the African nation.
The agreement means Nocart will be the supplier of complete power plants for the Zambian company’s upcoming projects. The first project is a 30MW hybrid power plant that uses solar and locally sourced biomass, and there are potentially several upcoming projects on the horizon.
The approximate value of the first project for Nocart is estimated at 100 million euros. The project is expected to be delivered during 2017 and 2018. The details of the delivery will be set in a separate agreement before the project begins.
Nocart delivers distributed power plants combining solar, wind, bio and other energy sources, as well as energy storage for utility grade electricity production. The company’s CEO Vesa Korhonen says that during the last two years, Nocart has developed a significant project pipeline in Africa.
“We expect continued strong growth based on hard work and strong partnerships,” he states.
