MacGregor establishes head office in Singapore
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has established its head office in Singapore in order to strengthen its local presence in Asia.
MacGregor has operated with a virtual head office for the past three years and will finally settle in Singapore to be close at hand to the Asian market.
MacGregor’s president Michel van Roozendaal will relocate to Singapore as of 1 October as will vice president of Finance Jani Oksanen, who will lead MacGregor’s finance and sourcing operations from the Chinese financial centre.
“As a global market leader in cargo and load handling serving our customers globally, a head office in Singapore is a natural fit for MacGregor as the majority of shipbuilding takes place in Asia,” Roozendaal explains. “Furthermore, close to 70 per cent of MacGregor’s sourcing volume is purchased from Asian vendors.”
MacGregor will continue to have a strong presence in Europe as well, where the majority of the company’s competence centres remain. The company’s new head office in Singapore will be shared with sister companies Hiab and Kalmar at the company’s existing premises there.
