Lyfta edtech gets global recognition

Finnish edtech company Lyfta has been awarded for the world’s best innovative learning and education product at the World Summit Award 2017 innovation competition.

The global innovation competition is a part of the United Nations World Summit of the Information Society (WSIS) framework that promotes digital innovation and social impact.

Annually, over 400 startups from 180 countries compete for the awards, and this year a Finnish company was selected for the first time since 2014. Lyfta was one of the five winners in the learning and education category.

The company’s key to success lies in highly engaging learning experiences, achieved by combining virtual and augmented reality environments with emotional storytelling.

“Humankind needs worldly, compassionate and thoughtful change-makers. It’s a great honour to receive the World Summit Award and to represent Finnish educational knowhow on a global stage,” says co-CEO Paulina Tervo in a press release. “Our hope is that Lyfta becomes a tool that will inspire the next generation of global changemakers.”

Earlier this year Lyfta was selected by hundrED as one of the 100 most inspiring global education innovations.
