Finnish games developer Koukoi Games is set to make it big in Japan after partnering with a major publisher of foreign games in the Japanese market.

Oulu-based Koukoi Games has teamed up with Worker Bee to develop a culturally localised version of its game Crashing Season for Japan. The news follows a similar announcement for the Chinese market last month.

The partnership will enable Koukoi to access the Japanese market, which has its own mobile operator-controlled stores that only certain publishers are able to access and publish on. A localised free-to-play version of Crashing Season will also be released on Google Play and the App Store.

No release date has been announced for the Japanese versions of the game.

In the meantime, Koukoi will present Crashing Season to Japanese mobile game fans at the Tokyo Game Show 2016 event being held from 15–18 September.
