Finnish elevator and escalator maker KONE has acquired its authorised distribution partner in Croatia and Bosnia, Lift Modus.

Lift Modus distributes KONE’s machines in Croatia and Bosnia through its headquarters in Zagreb and its branch office in Sarajewo. The company has been KONE’s exclusive partner since 1999.

“With the acquisition of Lift Modus, we are very pleased to establish our presence in Croatia and Bosnia and take advantage of the growth opportunities in the region,” says Pierre Liautaud, executive vice president and area director for KONE West and South Europe and Africa.

Lift Modus has currently 1 600 elevators and escalators in service. The company employs around 60 people in both countries.

Earlier this year, the Finnish company acquired the German companies Janzhoff Aufzüge and Klostermann Aufzüge.
