Over 40 companies from 13 countries took part in the competition at the Top Packaging Summit in Malmö, Sweden. Packbridge Challenge is for entrepreneurially led companies with a unique technology or business idea that can be applied in the packaging value chain.

The winner was given 50 000 Swedish krona (around 5 200 euros) as a prize. On top of the money, Koepala’s solution received plenty of praise from the jury.

“A clever innovative solution that contributes to, and solves daily issues in a convenient way,” the statement reads. “The simplicity and sustainability of this innovative solution is probably more scalable than the inventors thought about.”
