Finnish independent media startup Kieku Labs has received a significant boost from Swedish investors.

Together, Gert Nordin and Erik Fischbeck increased their capital boost in Kieku from 200 000 euros to 500 000 euros. This in addition to the 200 000 euros already received from Tekes – the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation.

As we reported in June, the company has created an AI-driven audio service that curates content based on the listener’s interests.

“The AI core engine of the Kieku service, in combination with the unique and precise social sharing functionality, will fill a gap in the podcast domain not yet served by other audio services,” says Fischbeck, who is also a company board member. “The global expansion is planned to continue in 2018, and we are also open for new potential investors to join in.”

Kieku was recently ranked as Finland’s hottest startup in August by Startup100.
