Kide Science raises EUR 750K to spur Asian growth
Finnish early childhood education company Kide Science has closed a funding round led by KSI Education and Europe’s leading seed edtech investor, Emerge Education.
The other institutional investors were impact-focused UK-based investor MPA Education, Italy’s Zanichelli Venture and Finland’s Reaktor Ventures. Also private investors participated in the funding round.
Kide Science has developed a preschool education model that supports the development of young children’s scientific thinking through play-based learning.
Equipping children with science process skills before school has been shown to result in better learning outcomes.
The pedagogical approach of Kide Science has recently generated a lot of interest in Asia, where the Finnish company has started teacher training in China and Singapore, and opened a two-storey science centre in Malaysia.
The investment from KSI Education is of strategic importance, with the London-headquartered international education financing company also having branches in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Singapore.
“We share the same vision and values for preparing young children’s scientific thinking, and Kide Science provides [an] excellent opportunity for students in their early years,” stated KSI Education. “We look forward to working with Kide Science closely over the coming years.”
Kide Science’s playful approach to early-childhood learning is based on rigorous academic research by Jenni Vartiainen Ph.D. Read more about it in our feature article.
