Innovation lifts KONE onto Forbes top 50

Finnish elevator and escalator company Kone has been ranked 48th on business magazine Forbes’ list of the world’s top 100 most innovative companies.

KONE was deemed the 5th most innovative company in Europe, fittingly on the fifth occasion it has been featured on Forbes’ list.

Companies were ranked according to the “Innovation Premium” metric, which ascertained the difference between their market capitalisation and a net present value of cash flows from existing businesses.

The company’s People Flow Intelligence solutions seek to facilitate navigation through buildings more smoothly. The company has also developed technology enabling future elevator travel heights of one kilometre – twice the distance currently feasible.
