Humana acquires Finnish Nordic Senior Services
Nordic Senior Services is now part of Humana’s Finnish subsidiary, in a move that strengthens the Swedish company’s position in Finland and enables it to expand to new care segments.
Humana has agreed to acquire all the shares in Nordic Senior Services (NSS), which operates in the fields of elderly care, functional impairment (LSS) and psychosocial care and treatment.
NSS will henceforth be part of Arjessa, Humana’s Finnish subsidiary. The move will complement Humana’s existing operations in Finland and also means expansion into new care segments, namely elderly care and LSS.
“The acquisition of Nordic Senior Services Oy is an important step in Humana’s ambition to become a complete care provider in Finland,” says Rasmus Nerman, CEO of Humana. “NSS Oy complements and extends our existing operations and strengthens our platform for further growth in Finland.”
Nordic Senior Services operates seven elderly care units, one LSS unit and one social psychiatry unit in Finland. The company has some 135 employees and 155 customers. NSS’s revenue for 2016 was 7.1 million euros, with operating profits before goodwill amortisation amounting to 300 000 euros.
