Huhtamäki’s smart cup at our disposal
Finnish food and drink packaging company Huhtamäki has unveiled its new Adtone single-use paper cup with a digitilised connection, handy for promotional purposes.
As consumers usually engage with a coffee cup for several minutes and tend to pay attention to what’s printed on it, the digitalised connection makes the Adtone smart cup a powerful marketing tool.
By scanning a QR code on the label with a smart device, the consumer gains access to a linked website and associated digital content.
Thermosensitive printing on the label, however, ensures that the QR code remains hidden until the beverage is purchased, making it optimal for the likes of prize lottery campaigns or loyalty rewards.
A smart code management software also makes sure a promotional code can only be used once and dynamically alters the digital content after use.
