Hill Climb Racing most innovative mobile game in China
China Mobile, the world’s largest mobile operator, has named Hill Climb Racing by Finnish game studio Fingersoft as the most innovative mobile game of the year.
A modified version of the Oulu-based company’s car-racing game was released for the Chinese market roughly a year ago. The game is set in iconic Chinese landscapes including the Great Wall, Shanghai city and the Yellow Mountains.
The two versions of the game were downloaded more than 54 million times in China in 2015.
“It has traditionally been very difficult for Western countries to enter the Chinese market. With the help of My Gamez’s local knowledge, however, we were able to get our foot in the door of the world’s fastest-growing market. A substantial share of our net sales already comes from China,” says Fingersoft’s business development director, Jarkko Paalanen.
All versions of Fingersoft’s game have been downloaded more than 400 million times worldwide, and the company recorded net sales of 13.2 million euros and a result of 8.1 million euros in the previous financial period.
