Fujitsu has teamed up with Finnish tech company Wirepas in order to offer practical connected modules for various Internet of Things (IoT) application areas.

The Fujitsu sensor beacons with Wirepas Connectivity, for example, are connected modules suited for IoT applications in industries, such as healthcare, industrial automation and smart building.

Fujitsu can also apply the Wirepas Connectivity protocol to other devices and turn them into connected modules, and now offers the possibility to enable Wirepas Connectivity on its Bluetooth 4.2 Module.

“The constantly growing product portfolio of Fujitsu components offers a great platform on top of which Wirepas Connectivity can add value,” says Wirepas CEO Teppo Hemiä. “We are looking forward to changing the world one connected thing at a time.”

There is also no need for traditional repeaters with Wirepas Connectivity, because all the connected devices become smart routers and form the network together.

Wirepas and Fujitsu will showcase the results of their collaboration at the Embedded World in Nuremberg between 14–16 March.
