Fortum Charge & Drive coming to Poland
Polish energy firm Energa has signed a co-operation agreement with Fortum Charge & Drive for its cloud-based electric vehicle charging solution.
The Fortum Charge & Drive cloud-based solution will begin to operate seven Energa EV charging stations in the cities of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot by March, with plans to use the solution to further expand Energa’s EV charging infrastructure in Poland.
The deal was done with Enspirion, the e-mobility division of Energa, whose chairman Tadeusz Wita commented, in a release, “In the near future we aspire to dynamically develop the EV charging infrastructure in Poland and thanks to that system we will be able to co-operate with other charging stations owners in the country by connecting them into our network.”
The Fortum Charge & Drive cloud solution offers remote monitoring and upgrades, as well as easy payment for the use of chargers. EV charging is free for the time being in Poland, but that’s set to change according to Wita,
“The market is inevitably moving towards the point when customers will have to start paying for EV charging. Thanks to the agreement with a renowned international partner, we will be ready for that.”
