Flexound raises almost a million
Finnish startup Flexound Systems has gathered 900 000 euros from Finnish and international angels investors for boosting its growth.
Flexound will bring its smart cushion HUMU to Indiegogo in early February. The innovation combines high-quality sound and distributed vibration to enable users to simultaneously feel and hear sounds and music.

“With the funding, we can bring the product directly to the international market,” notes Flexound CEO Mervi Heinaro. “Growth takes courage, money and a lot of work. Blue-and-white HUMU is our way to honour Finland’s [centenary] celebrations.”
According to Heinaro, investors were interested in Flexound’s potential in the market. She sees the international ownership as one of the company’s best assets in its conquest of the world.
In addition to HUMU, Flexound’s offering includes the Taikofon therapy pillow, which is targeted at children with autism and other disabilities. A child can hug the pillow or lay on it and the combination of vibration and sound helps them to calm down, focus and relax.
