Finnish software company Wirepas has teamed up with UK-based wireless technology provider Telit to deliver a solution for large scale Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Wirepas and Telit are targeting large-scale IoT applications such as asset tracking, smart lighting and logistics. Together, the two companies bring new ultra-low power connectivity modules to the market.

“We are extremely proud to be partners of Telit,” says Teppo Hemiä, CEO of Wirepas. “Our technology together with Telit modules and IoT platform is a perfect match. Together we enable large-scale industrial IoT applications and make the deployment easy and cost-efficient for our end customers.”

Wirepas Connectivity is a decentralised radio communications protocol for large scale Industrial IoT applications such as smart metering, lighting, asset tracking, logistics and environmental censoring. It is easy to deploy, enabling limitless scale, ultra-low power operations and high reliability.

“Wirepas technology software with Telit platform is a great example of what our new business unit will add to the Telit total IoT solution portfolio,” says Felix Marchal, executive vice president of GNSS and Short Range Wireless at Telit. “We now offer the most scalable sensor-to-gateway-to-cloud solution for IoT networks.”

It’s been an eventful few weeks for Wirepas, having announced a similar collaboration with Swiss u-blox last month.
