Finnish university students subject to greatness
The latest rankings from British education specialists Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) have been released, with several Finnish universities featuring in the top 50 across various disciplines.
The University of Helsinki is a prominent presence in this year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject. The Helsinki institution was ranked 25th worldwide for philosophy, 42nd for communications and media, 43rd for anthropology, 49th for geography and 50th for linguistics.
Elsewhere, Sibelius Academy offers the 10th best performing arts programme on the planet and Aalto University’s art and design is ranked 13th.
Meanwhile, Finnish nursing education also featured in the top 50 worldwide, with the University of Turku taking 41st place and the University of Eastern Finland 42nd.
A total of 10 Finnish higher learning institutions in the world’s top 550 in last year’s QS World University Rankings.
