Finnish taxi-pooling service Tuup has commenced a strategic partnership with DemandTrans, a US-based software company.

Tuup launched its Kyyti taxi-pooling service in Finland just this week. The company refers to the partnership as ‘the dream team of smart transportation’, which will provide US cities with flexible, cost-effective and resource-efficient transport solutions.

DemandTrans, from Chicago, has been developing solutions to the growing challenges of transportation in big cities for over two decades. Now, Tuup brings along its app that combines different means of travelling and allows the user to plan routes, compare alternatives and pay for transport in an easy and safe manner.

“It’s really great Tuup was invited to this collaboration,” notes Tuup’s proud CEO Pekka Möttö. “The most respected professionals in the field noticed how advanced our app is.”

According to Möttö, Finland is in a good position in the relatively new field of smart transportation, as the country boasts plenty of knowledge in technology and a favourable legislation regarding smart solutions.

The collaboration included the development of the expertise of Tuup’s strategic partner, Finnish Strafica.
