Meritaito, a Finnish company specialising in sustainable use of water areas, has won the contract for a hydrographic surveying project put out for tender by Norwegian Hydrographic Service, a division of the Norwegian Mapping Authority.

The project is one of the most challenging and demanding hydrographic survey projects in the world.

The Mareano project maps the depth and topography of the seabed, in addition to the sea environment and its biodiversity.

For Meritaito, winning the Mareano contract gives it a foothold in international hydrographic surveying projects. The company has invested in its vessel fleet in order to be able to operate on international waters and in European marine traffic.

Meritaito is one of the leading developers of sea areas and a provider of high technology services in the Baltic Sea region.
