The aim of Elonhakkuu’s bodyweight training app is to make users learn new physical skills, including those they didn’t think were possible.

According to Elonhakkuu marketing director Aaro Helander, the app also hopes to boost motivation for training.

“When the user focuses on learning a new skill, getting fit is a side product,” he says.

The financing came from three funders, one of them being Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation Tekes.

Currently approximately 90 per cent of the app’s users reside outside of Finland. The company tells that Next Level started spreading a couple of weeks back, and is currently acquiring around 100 new users daily – with zero marketing efforts.

“Even if we were to just sit on our hands now, the number of users would continue to grow,” Helander notes. “Now we can take a break from marketing and focus on developing new training programmes and improving user experience.”
