Hesburger continues to spread internationally with a new restaurant in Bulgaria and at least four more in store for the country next year.

Hesburger is the biggest hamburger chain in Finland and the Baltic states. After this latest venture outside Finland, Hesburger can now be found in eight different countries.

The restaurant in Bulgaria is located in Stara Zagora.

“Bulgaria is an exciting market, and it offers an opportunity to further grow our chain internationally,” says Ieva Salmela, international development director at Hesburger. “There are at least four restaurants planned in Bulgaria next year. The overall investment is between three and four million euros and there will be around 60–70 new jobs created.”

Hesburger will use local producers and distributors for the ingredients where possible, but the trademark sauces and mayo will be shipped from Finland, where they are being produced at Hesburger’s factory in Kaarina.

The menu in Bulgaria will resemble the Finnish one, with the usual hamburgers, tortillas, meals, snacks and desserts.
