Two Finnish films have been chosen for the Warsaw Film Festival.

Director Johan Karrento’s documentary Putting Lipstick on a Pig (Att sminka en gris) will have its international premiere at the festival. The film follows the exploits of an Åland bookkeeper, who embezzled 800 000 euros from her customers and squandered the money on online gambling.

Meanwhile, Arto Halonen’s thriller The Guardian Angel (Suojelusenkeli) is screening as part of the film festival’s Special Screenings series. Set in Denmark in the 1950s, the film stars international actors Pilou Asbæk, Josh Lucas and Rade Šerbedžija.

The Warsaw Film Festival is being held on 12–21 October.
