Finnish films awarded in Los Angeles
Three Finnish entrants received awards at the US International Film & Video Festival organised in Los Angeles.
The news was reported by Finnish magazine Markkinointi & Mainonta.
The production companies Whitepoint, Otto Tuotanto and Pohjantähti Elokuva were recognised at the awards.
Whitepoint received the Gold Camera Statuette for a building site safety video it created for the construction company YIT. Turkka Syrjäläinen and Janne Wahlman are responsible for the film’s production and direction, with Jouko Manninen as its animator.
Otto Tuotanto was placed third in the Certificate for Creative Excellence category for the video it devised for Visit Finland. The film is directed by Pekka Hara.
Pohjantähti Elokuva placed second, receiving the Silver Screen Statuette with its film 75 Years of Kesko. The history of the Finnish wholesale company Kesko is directed by Pami Teirikari.
According to Markkinointi & Mainonta, this year marked the 49th anniversary of the competition with more than 1 000 films from 34 countries taking part.
