Finnish engineering giants receive orders around the world

Wärtsilä, Valmet and Metso have signed contracts for deliveries to the marine, oil and paper industries in Europe and the Middle East.

Wärtsilä has signed an engine delivery contract with Simek AS in Norway. Simek AS is building a 75-metre-long fishing vessel, Antares, for the waters around Scotland and the Shetland Islands. Wärtsilä will deliver a 12 cylinder Wärtsilä 32 engine for the vessel. The vessel will be completed in December 2016.

Valmet is set to deliver a slitter-winder for a containerboard production line at the Parenco B.V. mill in the Netherlands. Parenco is converting the line to produce roughly 385 000 tonnes of testliner and corrugated board a year, for use in containerboard.

Metso has signed a contract to deliver solenoid valves for Orpic’s oil refinery expansion project in Sohar, Oman. The company will supply intelligent Neles Valvguard solenoid valves to ensure the reliable operation of the refinery’s 600 emergency shutdown valves. The refinery is owned by Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic).
