Finnish repository management platform Deveo has been bought up by US-based Perforce, and will be added to Perforce’s product portfolio under the new name Helix TeamHub.

Deveo was sold to Perforce by Finnish Tech Consulting Group (TCG), the owner of DevOps company Eficode from which Deveo split in 2014 to become its own subsidiary.

The acquisition of Deveo by Perforce will open up international markets for the product under its well-connected new owner.

“We have been able to create a considerable clientele for Deveo in Finland,” says Risto Virkkala, CEO of TCG. “In addition, Perforce has an international client portfolio of software development customers, which offers a fast internationalisation opportunity for the Deveo product. Perfoce saw significant value in Deveo’s technology.”

After Deveo split form Eficode in 2014, Eficode collaborated closely with Deveo and will continue to do so with Deveo’s new owner by offering Perforce’s products, including the new Helix TeamHub.

“Collaboration with Perforce will thus offer Eficode new internationalisation opportunities as well,” Virkkala points out.

Perforce is set to continue its strong product development in Finland and former Deveo CEO Ilmari Kontulainen will stay aboard as the technical director for the Helix Teamhub product.
