Finnish design company Marimekko has announced a new partnership deal with US retailer Target.

The new spring collection will feature some of Marimekko’s print-centric designs for outdoor decor, furniture, entertainment essentials and beach and swimwear for women and girls, which will be sold in Target stores across the US.

The deal comes following a licensing agreement which was made between the two companies in 2015.

Target’s senior vice president for product design and development, Julie Guggemos, says of the deal, “We’ve had our eye on Marimekko for quite sometime, and can’t wait for guests to have a chance to shop this limited-edition collection in just a few weeks.”

“We are thrilled to share our storied colorful designs and lifestyle thinking, inspired by Finnish summer living outdoors, with Target’s guests in all stores and online across the United States,” adds Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, Marimekko’s president.

The new collection will be available from 17 April.

Marimekko is a Finnish design company renowned for its original prints and colours.
