Alva Organics specialises in organic cosmetics. The winning product is called Sophie la girafe Baby SOS Cream, and it’s an Ecocert-certified nappy and outdoor cream. According to the company, the product has been described as “the Swiss Army knife of skin care” and “a miracle cream”.

The award was accepted at the Les Oscars 2017 CosmétiqueMag gala on 31 May. The Oscars of CosmétiqueMag are respected awards in the cosmetics industry, as the winners are selected by a jury of experts in France. Awards are presented in categories ranging from fragrances to colour cosmetics.

“We were honoured to be nominated for an award in a competition where participants include French classics such as Louis Vuitton and Dior,” Jalkanen notes. “A win in the category for the best children’s product distributed by pharmacies is a remarkable achievement for our company, as the skin care products sold in pharmacies are of high quality, in a highly competitive market dominated by established large-scale businesses.”
