Progressive rock band Naryan, hailing from Tampere, has been signed by the independent Irish rock label Progressive Gears (PRG).

The band started playing in the early 2000s and has so far released two albums: self-titled debut album in 2013 and the critically acclaimed sophomore effort Black Letters in 2016.

It was the positive reviews of the second album that brought Naryan to the attention of PRG.

Jez Rowden of The Progressive Aspect wrote, “Naryan don’t overplay their hand and the writing, arrangements and performances are all of high quality. This is a band that has real class, the result being an uplifting listen.”

The album also struck a chord with Andrew Lock, who praised the album in his review for The Journal of The Classic Rock Society: “This is a majestic piece of work… wonderfully-written lyrics… beautifully-performed numbers… full of passion and emotion and with stunning performances throughout.”

The positive word-of-mouth saw PRG signing Naryan for the band’s global sales, distribution and worldwide promotion rights (excluding Finland).

Naryan is set to release its third album, with a new line-up, in 2018.
