Finnish app Wimble helps manage time
The startup company Mekiwi, which has its roots in Oulu, is presently developing the smart Wimble mobile app designed to encourage its users to better manage their time. Users can use the service to combine their timetables and daily tasks into a manageable whole – use their calendars, write, record sound or take photos of notes and make lists of tasks.
The application will be released for Android-based mobile devices in autumn 2014 and a business version will be created during the winter.
“There is a lot of competition in the sector and each time management area has its own application,” explains Mekiwi’s CEO Antti Kananen. “Wimble differs from the competition in that that it combines all of these areas into one smart app. It also motivates its users in multiple ways and they can share functions with one another.”
Mekiwi is in the process of starting up its operations and is seeking investment funding. According to Kananen the company is heading for the global markets as quickly as possible; they are especially interested in the Chinese market and Asian markets as a whole. The planned internationalisation is supported by the company’s intention of translating Wimble into 20 languages.
“We will start making our name known in the Asian markets through the region’s most popular social media,” Kananen says.
