Finland scores double in cleantech
Two Finnish companies made it to the Global TOP10 in cleantech listed by the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA).
The winning Finnish duo was formed by Visedo and Sulapac. Visedo develops technology and software to electrify transport propulsion on land and sea, and Sulapac has created an alternative to plastic packaging.
Finland and Switzerland were the only two countries that have two companies on the list. The rest of the TOP10 comprised firms from India, Ireland, the US, the UK, Belgium and Australia.
The GCCA’s Global TOP10 winners represent the best of the association’s member clusters and over 10 000 member companies. The best 10 were selected based on the KeyStone Compact assessment, which identifies critical success drivers of early-stage ventures and corporate innovations.
“The Award is getting more competitive every year and this year’s nominees and winners are the ones to watch,“ says Christian Haeuselmann, chairman of the GCCA and founder of the YODEL HUB in Switzerland. “We believed that these companies will be in the forefront developing solutions to achieve the Global Sustainable Development Goals.”
This year’s GCCA Awards ceremony will be organised by Cambridge Cleantech jointly with Nordic Innovation Accelerator in conjunction with the Cleantech Venture Day event in London.
