The US and UK/Ireland theatrical and digital rights for Hymyilevä mies (The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki) have been picked up by Mubi.

The curated VOD streaming service also snapped up the SVOD rights in Latin America for this year’s Un Certain Regard prize-winner at Cannes.

Set in 1962, director Juho Kuosmanen’s film tells the true story of the eponymous boxing hero, as he attempts to win the world championship featherweight title.

The theatrical rights for the black-and-white film have already been sold in Denmark, Germany, Greece, Sweden and France, where it will be distributed theatrically at the end of the year.
