Finland has one of lowest gender gaps in the world
The World Economic Forum (WEF) has ranked Finland second in its annual gender gap report.
Altogether the WEF surveyed 144 countries across the areas of health, education, economy and politics.
Of these, Finnish women topped the global list in educational attainment, along with health and survival. Coming in just behind Iceland, Finland’s overall ranking represents a move up of one position from last year.
Elsewhere in the report, Yemen, Pakistan and Syria were ranked in the last three positions.
Gender equality in Finland was also tops in the sub-indices of professional and technical workers and women in ministerial positions.
