Finland once again ranked best place to be a mother
Finland has been ranked as the world’s best place to be a mother, according to the Save the Children’s 15th annual State of the World’s Mothers report. Finland topped the ranking also in 2013.
The index assesses the well-being of mothers and children in 178 countries. Finland, Norway and Sweden top the ranking this year. According to the report, the top 10 countries, in general attain very high scores for mother’s and children’s health, educational, economic and political status.
Most current and previous bottom 10 countries are among the poorest in the world, and recent crises have only exacerbated problems that have persisted for decades. Bottom of the list were Somalia, Central African Republic, Niger and Mali.
