Film stars booked for new Moomin show

The entertainment site Variety reports that a start cast including Kate Winslet, Rosamund Pike and Taron Egerton will be heard in the upcoming Moomins animated series.

Variety tells that Pike will be the voice for Moominmamma, Egerton is Moomintroll and Winslet lends her voice to Mrs. Fillyjonk.

In addition, Matt Berry will be heard as Moominpappa, Warwick Davis has been signed up to play Sniff and Richard Ayoade the Ghost. Will Self will play the Muskrat and Akiya Henry Snorkmaiden.

Variety refers to the Moomins, created by Tove Jansson, as “one of Finland’s biggest cultural exports”. The series is made and distributed by Finnish Gutsy Media, and it will be launched in spring 2019.
