The Freedome VPN allows users to encrypt communications over public Wi-Fi, block online tracking attempts and malicious websites, and also change their virtual location.

The news of the deal between the two companies was reported by DQ India.

“Everyone knows mobile devices and services are becoming more popular, and so securing these devices is becoming more important,” the website quotes Kirill Zelenski, F-Secure’s director, business development. “Freedome has security features that protect both people’s devices and communications, so packaging it with devices is a great way to add value to any smartphone or tablet.”

Freedome is now a “Featured App” on TCL and Alcatel Android phones and tablets sold worldwide, except China. The pre-installation of the VPN also includes a free two-week trial period.
